Hikes

This week the gals and I took the whole crew on a nice little hike down to an old dock that they use to use during WWII. I guess the ships would come up to it and get supplies and then take them out to the submarines. Pretty cool, huh?! This is practically right around the corner from Chris and Carlie's house!

Then on Friday, both Chad and Chris had work off so we went and hiked the"Staircase". Sounds pretty hardcore, but it was actually very peaceful, a little adventurous and a sweet hike for the kiddos.

Nixon all geared up and ready to ride!

Okay, so the bridge that was suppose to take us to the other side of the rolling river of death was out so we decided to shimmy across a fallen tree. Mind you, this is after I just got done telling Chad and Carlie how I am freaked out by large moving bodies of water, especially if I have to maneuver my way across them. Ahhh! I could just see everyone falling and being swept away never to be heard from again! The Dr. Seuss tree
We also had to go down this tree that was fallen at a 45 degree angle. Chris and Chad just walked right down it. Uh, yeah right! I pulled a muscle squeezing that tree so hard with my legs!!
All worth it in the end. And Nixon slept through most of it!!
