Happy Thanksgiving!!

Turkey for you...Turkey for me... So this was our family's 1st official Thanksgiving "on our own". And although we had a few requests for our family to join in with some other family's festivities, Chad and I decided that we NEEDED to spend this holiday together...just us. It was awesome!!

To kick things off, the kids and I picked Chad up at the hospital and drove out to Tacoma so I could do my first 5K. Chad and the kids were troopers cheering me on in the rain. I ran it in 24:50!! Not too bad for my first race!

After the race, the kids and I dropped Chad back off at the hospital so he could finish up some work. By 12:30, EVERYONE (except me, of course) was taking naps, so I busied myself in the kitchen to put a few finishing touches on our Thanksgiving dinner. Fancy china, crystal goblets...the kids loved it! I was a nervous wreck, but it was a special meal and the kids were very well behaved.

Lexi said she was thankful for everything and everyone. Although she was doubtful about mashed potatoes at first, Chad talked her into trying them and that's about all she would eat after that!

Zane said that he was thankful for his family and the delicious food. "This is the best Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had , Mom!" (Brownie points for you, Zane!!)
Sooo, Nixon wasn't a fan of sweet potatoes... but just look at that grin!!

And on to the good stuff...
Yes, this year I did make a "healthy pie". Sugar free, fat free crustless pumpkin pie along with a good ol' French silk.

Kids didn't seem to miss any of the sugar or fat, but when you put a dollop of Cool Whip on, the size of your pie, anything will taste good!!

After dinner we all hit up a movie along with some contraband popcorn and soda. We're so freakin cheap! Great day, great family! I'm thankful for it all.

Looks like a great time. Congratulations on the 5k. Nice time, I only can compare it to mine way back when. You would have killed me. I however did get first place in the Cowboy Games (only one in my age group) French Silk was represented in Salt Lake as well, and was the most popular pie.
